Without delay, you toss the pear core over the fence and scramble off. What a good pear—you never got to eat much fruit back in The City. Or, well...much of anything. Trash creatures make do, but they don't thrive.
You follow the path through the field and down the steep hill towards the beach. The view alone is enough to make you breathless; aside from the water and sky blending together in a endless mass of blue, the low tide is littered with monolithic rock...things, all green with moss and formed in a variety of rounded and angular shapes. Even up here, they look huge. Down by the water, they could dwarf a skyscraper. A steady blanket of wave and wind noise hangs in the background.
By the time you make it onto the beach, it's easy goings. Everything opens up, and you've got a lot of options for exploration.
