Colton's Adventure

The Guardian lights the way out of the cave, and you follow closely behind. Everything seems a bit less scary by her side, though you're still not sure what to make of her. You're still not sure she's even really there.

By the time you make it back to the beach, it's high noon, and a few more people are scattered about the beach, and you hear them playing and chatter from across the way. Her eyes turn back to green as she surveys them. You're still wary about people, but the Guardian pulls you towards a grassy hill hidden by some bushes.

"What's a kid like you doing in The City anyway?"

"I just—always lived there, I guess. Didn't know there was anywhere else to go."

"Don't you have parents?"

"Don't you have parents?" You do, they just—didn't want any part of you. You hesitate to make any noise other than a groan.

"...I won't pry. I'm sorry."
