You hoist yourself into the little hole in the sea stack. Your hands are fine, but they hurt. You have to catch your breath anyway, climbing isn't easy. The sound of the tide is tinny up here, shielded from most of the movement of the waves themselves.
To your surprise, this is no little natural hole. It looks like someone intentionally carved this out, actually—there's even a little "staircase" in rock up to the top of the stack!
