As you get deeper into the library and closer towards the back, everything grows dustier and fainter. The soft carpet is replaced by old, rough wooden planks, and even if you could read, you'd have a hard time seeing some of the book names in the dark. The shelves only seem to get more labyrinth-like too, and it's dead silent back here. Something's...off about it, for sure.
You notice someone's left out a very heavy book of maps on one of the tables, and you climb up on the chair and flip through it, trying to decipher...much of anything about it, really. Frankly, it just looks like a bunch of lines from here, not something that'll help you find Penny. You decide to take the book back out into the light and see if you can make heads or tails of it out there. Unfortunately, the book really is heavy, and you stumble as you pull it off the table and try to carry it in your tiny little raccoon arms.
You finally spot a passage of light...and trip over your own feet trying to get out, falling on the book with a very noticeable boom against the hollow floor. The librarian perks up, annoyed. "Sir, can I help you?"
