Cammy's High Scores for FreQuency

Given my sweep of Amplitude, it was only a matter of time before I set my sights on the game that came before it (and Harmonix's very first): FreQuency. An early enough PS2 game to come on a CD instead of a DVD, FreQuency is very much a rough draft of Amplitude, pressing buttons to music in a big tunnel instead of a vast highway. It's dizzying, it's busy, it's even more alien-looking than Amplitude, and I don't quite think it plays as well, but I like it anyway.

As usual, here's my current PBs across the game's 27 songs (plus the European exclusive, "Why", and the two inaccessible on-disc songs, "Godspeed" and "Scratchotronic"). My scores for this game tend to be a lot lower than mine for Amplitude for three reasons:

1. FreQuency's multiplier only goes up to x4, or x6 with a powerup, as opposed to Amplitude's x8 maximum
   
2. FreQuency has a much smaller hit window than Amplitude, and paired with emulator lag (I have to hit notes seriously early for them to register), the faster songs and crazier patterns become almost an exercise in frustration
3. You lose your multiplier way more often in FreQuency period (example: if you have a bar of a section left and thus not enough time to capture that track (by messing up or carelessly using Autocatcher powerups), you'll go into the next section without a multiplier)

This all tends to temper PBs much more heavily. That said, I'm improving rapidly. I hadn't even scored 10,000 points cumulatively on Easy when I started keeping track of my scores! Still, most of these will probably become completely obsolete when I get another PS2 and a CRT to go with it for lag-free runs. Stay tuned.
