NoFEMBR Rolls On

Hey everyone. Still working on polishing off a whole ton of shit before the end of the year, and it’s been pretty smooth sailing. Been using the time where Caby’s off setting up all the bits and bobs for her new guinea pigs fairly efficiently, I think. Aside from playing too much NFL Street 2 and my esophagus acting up, here’s how it goes:

Firstly, got that “Arrogant” postmortem properly done a few days ago. I had a little placeholder page up the night I got it done because I was simply too exhausted to write ~3,000 words of junk, but I still needed something for the downloads page. It’s easily the longest of my postmortems, but it’s also the one I had the most to say about.

I still have that “outtakes” video coming soon, featuring all the little cut bits from the map, and that’ll finally be the last little bit of Quake from me for a long while. The video’s already scripted, I just haven’t decided how I’m gonna arrange everything yet (voiceover first or edit first and then voiceover over top it). I somehow haven’t exhausted all the stuff to talk about with it, so yeah, in a few days now.

I also just finished Tesserae’s final update for the year, on increasing the readability of big pages of text with line-height and margins and things. I might be jumping the gun a little on including something like this, given that there’s no CSS section yet whatsoever and some of this might overlap with that, but we’ll see. Plus, in general, it’s a different way to approach tutorial stuff than how I normally do it.

Once Caby settles back in with her art (busy all week), I’ll settle back in on that last Pennyverse story for the year and also a writing page overhaul that’ll see some of my work getting moved about to Gopher and places. Beyond that, it’s really just a few more smaller things with various side projects of mine–Misery Inspires update here, one last Rediscovering there, and with any luck, helping dcb with something I’ve been promising him for months now (…actually two things–patient lad, thankfully <:3c).

Two weeks until one year of the Scratchpad. Believe me, it’s been on my mind.
