What's New at Cammy HQ!

Short and sweet—a changelog. New pages, stuff fixed, why I've been quiet, and everything in between, in reverse chronological order (so no scrolling to see the new stuff). Some of the oldest updates in this changelog came from comments I was leaving myself in my home page source.

Anyway, keep checking back for updates!

Second page I've been meaning to make for this site! Last month, borb and I took a trip down to West Orange, New Jersey to see the zoo there, and I brought back a ton of pictures and even a video of a deranged, acrobatic otter using my new phone! There's some really quality shots in there, so have a look. Very glad to have this done and dusted.

Well, long time no see! I've got a small back stock of pages I've been wanting to make for this place, but have the first: I'm now tracking my scores for FreQuency, the game Harmonix made before Amplitude (which is getting rather optimized, on an aside, at least as far as I'm capable of taking it). Meanwhile, I still suck at FreQuency, but practice makes perfect! (And tracking my scores always gives me incentive to beat them, so hopefully, many PBs to come...)

Old Cammy writing update one of two! Got some old Calelira stuff I wanted to post in the leadup to "The Fatal Commons" getting a final, full-length rewrite (and some Pennyverse stuff in the works), so have a quest I did with occasional Somnolian Savannah way back in late 2016, goddamn! It's spooky, it's got abandoned mining towns and nasty sicknesses! And grumpy sables, because I'm Cammy.

Spurred on by a conversational detour in Somnol last night, I present my explanation of what the Somnolescent Multiverse is. It's basically a giant excuse to get every character I've ever come up with into fantasy garb, yes.

I've been very much enjoying using the backgrounds from the Lost Propaganda Archive for my latest pages. I still don't quite know who made them or what the story is about them, all I know is they look wild, they tile great, and they have some downright bizarre names. Samples I've used: Mahogany-Handjob-3.JPG, My-Only-Child-1.JPG, and probably for whatever page I make next, Steam-Powered-Cowboy-2.JPG. I still gotta sort these...

June 16, 2021

Hoo, sorry for forgetting to update this page with this one! And forgetting to link it on the front page...no matter! I made a page for something I've been curious about for a long time, which is an informal listening test between five families of MP3 encoders. Didn't know there were families of those? Did you know they all sound totally different? It's a rabbit hole topic for sure, but I've got sample clips to download. And hey, you might just be surprised at the results...

Ooh, updates to the game recommendations page? Yes, now there's a second console, my beloved PS2! (Which I...currently don't have, like the PS1. Working on it...) I've been wanting to branch out into recommending games for a few more of my favorite consoles, and given that I've been itching to do more personal stuff and web stuff recently, I took the plunge this evening. That link now also goes to a console index page that should make it easier when I add more.

Remember—there is an RSS feed for this section! I update it with every update, so no worries about missing a review. (You'd think I'd make one for the whole site, but hm. Perhaps sometime.)

Quick update to the MIDI stockpile to add some more links to MIDI sites I've found. Yes, I didn't just write that page for a meme, I do intend to sort through all the ones I've grabbed...

May 30, 2021

This is a page I've been wanting to write for a long time—"The Ballad of the eMachines Box", borb's family's old computer and its second life with me. These pages are turning out way longer to make than anticipated, but I'm consistently cranking shit out at this point, so I'm happy. But I gotta go clean, since I forgot last week and I saw webs in the corners of my room last night...

Hey, what's this? Something nature-y? Yes it is! Now that it's starting to get really nice out and we have the windows open all the time (though thankfully, it is much cooler today than it's been), I figured I'd take you along to explore one of my favorite little hidden away trails in this not-always-so-brilliant area I call home. There's lots of pictures (~700kb), so fair warning!

May 16, 2021

Small lil page to get me back to working on sites—some Amplitude PBs! You remember Amplitude, right, the one that gave Caby a headache? Here's my scores while I'm still improving them, for posterity until I get a better controller to play it on. Now that Guitar Hero II Deluxe is all done and shipped, I can finally relax a bit and work on smaller stuff. And practicing more writing and drawing...

May 3, 2021

We have a new Colton story! Yes, I started this one mid-last month and it's been sitting in my pile of notebook paper drafts. It's called "A Conversation With Colton", and it's where some City person probably years after the main storyline tries to interview our boy, out here with hot tapes and everything—to mixed, spergy results. More drafts to follow (plus, I feel like I can in good conscience do more GH stuff and whatnot now that the group has seen more stories...)

April 28, 2021

Shouldn't have taken as long as it did to update this, but that's alright, that's what these old sites are for, yeah? At long last, after a month of working on it, Nirvana: Sound of Dentage, my three-disc boxset trying to improve on the official With the Lights Out set, is available for download. On the writing front, you bet I got more of that coming in—already have a few fully-finished, unpublished pages ready to go for when I have the whole update done! Told you lads, avalanche from me soon.

February 21, 2021

After a weirdly long intermission spent in a cave, I return with a new page on the curious case of Nobody's Watching. Some of the site's also been reorganized into a "vault" section, just so I don't end up with an utter mess of files. More on the way, promise.

February 6, 2021

Got the rest of the MIDIs sorted out. Approaching 13MB of the things, all largely clustered on 80s and 90s music, which a bunch new ones for TV and movie themes. Not a bad selection at all. Check the full index if you're curious.

February 4, 2021

Getting real close to things being completely clean and working around here. Stories are all ported over, in HTML, RTF, and plain text form (thank God), the stray mari.somnol pages are all linked on the front page now, and the recommended PS1 games page is now functional again—stuff's linked in the right place, and I reintroduced the stylesheet. If it's good enough for IE4, it's good enough for most any browser I'm bothering to test on.

February 2, 2021

The Minesweeper and Mario Kart Wii times page pages have both been remade with Composer, which is basically my new favorite thing ever. I debate which pages I'll keep hand-updating in a text editor and which ones I'll remake with Composer so it's a more graphical experience, but I'll go by what feels best.

January 26, 2021

I'm up at 5 in the morning working on this. Debating a "What's new" page. (Which I clearly went with, given that you're reading it!)

January 25, 2021

I hit a major burst of inspiration and actually start getting shit done on this new site of mine. About page has been written, even got a nice little bit of hover script action for those of you with fancier browsers. FrontPage Express has unfortunately not really done what I want it to as far as the markup goes—genuinely, it's messy stuff. I'd love to find a good WYSIWYG editor just to shake up how I build pages. Think the Notepad++ thing for every site has been played out for a bit, want something a little more fun, but hopefully not at the expense of readable goddamn HTML.

...You will check back, right?
